Maths Readiness: An I Know It! Book

Build a strong foundation in early mathematics through practical activities that help children understand numbers, compare quantities and develop essential problem-solving skills.

Maths Readiness: An I Know It! Book is a School Zone workbook designed to prepare young learners for successful early maths learning. The activities focus on understanding, ordering and comparing numbers while giving children repeated opportunities to practise important mathematical concepts in an accessible and engaging way. Hinkler identifies the workbook for children aged 5–7 and places it at School Zone level K–1.

The lessons cover a broad range of foundational skills, including counting from zero to 12, putting numbers in numerical order, beginning addition and subtraction, recognising shapes and patterns, comparing sizes, volumes and areas, and counting money. This variety allows children to encounter mathematical ideas in different contexts while gradually developing familiarity with numbers and quantities.

With its structured practice format, the workbook can support learning at home or complement early classroom mathematics. The activities give children opportunities to practise essential skills repeatedly, helping them become more comfortable with numbers, comparisons, patterns and basic calculations as they prepare for more advanced maths.
